Johanna Burai — World White Web

This work started when I searched for “hand” on Google and the search results showed only white hands. Then I noticed that the theme of white hands were recurring every time I visited a portfolio or blog about graphic design. So I started saving every portfolio image that I encountered, and in 100% of the cases, the hand was white.

This is not news, but it’s definitely something that we all have to consider and be aware of; how the graphic design world repeats and maintain whiteness.

1. Try not to sell any of your furniture or plants (unless you really need the simoleons). Instead, put it in your inventory. When you buy anything in the game, it adds to your town value. When you sell an object it takes away from your town value. Plus,you never know when you will be able to use an object in another house design.

2. Stock up on the free objects, especially if these are items that are only available for a limited time. Sometimes these objects become available for purchase in the next update. A good example of this is the Dove vanity, shower, and tub. I stocked up on them when the were free and when the next update rolled around, I was able to sell them when I needed simoleons for like 120 each.

3. If you are building on an empty lot, choose the roof and exterior of your house before you start to build. The game calculates the cost of these items based on the size of your house. So if there is no house, there is no cost.

4. Try not to demolish a house, especially if it is on a premium lot or a multistory house. Instead, sell the house room by room. This option will move all your items into your inventory (excluding items located on the first floor that can be used indoors or outdoors) and it will save you the time and money of having to rebuild a lot.

I understand that Isi’s design is pretty much a hodge podge of “Native American symbols” and that it’s incredibly shitty that they’re taking from a bunch of unrelated tribes because “who can be arsed to actually do the research, native is native.” Right?

But at the same time, I will scratch someone’s eyes out if it means I can get my hands on this doll. Because Native American women are grossly underrepresented in the mainstream media and this is the closest I’ve ever had to representation in the form of a doll. Fight me.

I’m sorry I actually really enjoyed the new SVTFOE episodes tonight??? Like yeah the animation was different but idk why people keep saying its BAD.

But COME. ON.

Stars Mewberty design was awesome, the Starco at the end rocked, Janna and her friends were adorable, THE FRICKING FORCE FED PUDDING, and let’s not forget, Marco saw Star as this terrifying, actual alien looking creature and instead of being repulsed or scared was trying to save her until the very end when he FELL ON HIS KNEES AND ALMOST CRIED.

The only reason I wasn’t big on Pixtopia was cause the plot was kinda eh but holy crap the ending with Alfonzo and Marco feeling all guilty and the pixies were so adorable????

Stop hating on these eps just cause the animation style has changed slightly. At least the show is off hiatus and the end of the hiatus doesn’t mean the end of the show for this series (*cough*PhineasandFerb*cough*)

And to all the people leaving the fandom cause of the animation change, good riddance.

RM: We received underwear as presents, me and Jimin. 

S: Yes, that happens.

RM: It was the same brand and design. So we came to an agreement to write our names on it (so that we won’t get mixed up).

S: Did you guys settle it like “you wear it today and I will wear it tomorrow?”

RM: I wrote RM on mine, and he wrote JM on his.

S: Ok.

RM: But the names fades away after washing, right.

S: Yes, yes, that could totally happen. 

RM: One day he got mad at me, saying why do I keep wearing his underwear. And I got angry at him, I said “I didn’t even wear yours”. But actually, I did wear it for few times.

S: Wearing other people’s underwear…

RM: the name RM & JM faded out so I kept getting it mixed up.

S: How many times (did you wear his)?

RM: About 22 times, but I got so mad at him and told him that I didn’t wear his. I’m sorry about that. I want to tell him to write his name on it again, so I won’t do it again. 

S: Ok, let’s ask for forgiveness. First of all, you have to buy Jimin 5 sets of underwear as a present. 

RM: I will buy 10 sets.

S: Ok, 10 sets. Your sin is forgiven, you can leave now.

Moana had better be popular. Even if it’s crap it had better be popular.

I had to stand two mediocre white girls from a shitty film taking over the goddamn world for three years. Now we’re getting a movie about Polynesian culture with a princess of colour (that we haven’t had since 2009) and it looks amazing. If a parade of bad character design and plot holes managed to destroy civilisation for three years too long and make a billion at the box office, then this had better as well.

Go see Moana.
